Why ARCHON exists

ARCHON Process Optimization, LLC helps paper mills make unstable systems predictable again. The work is built from field experience around paper machines, threading systems, stock prep, and outage floors.

Many mill problems are not single-component failures. They are system-coherence problems. Mechanical condition, process conditions, operating sequence, equipment intent, and maintenance practices drift apart over time.

The machine still runs, but instability becomes normal. ARCHON’s role is to find where that coherence has broken down and help the mill achieve a predictable, controllable system.

Field Experience Behind ARCHON

Threading Reliability

ARCHON was founded on the technical reality of unstable threading. We focus on the parts of the mill where instability shows up first: threading paths that have evolved over time, transfer points that are sensitive, and small changes in conditions that cause large swings in startup performance.

Stock Prep & Cleaner Systems

For mills where cleaner performance, reject rates, or sheet defects are chronic issues, we review whether mechanical condition, process conditions, and system intent are still aligned. Our audits identify the root of plugging and instability.

Outage & Startup Support

Outage windows are high-value time periods where focused observation and mechanical review can prevent known issues from returning to normal. We provide the technical discipline required to make these windows productive.

Process Optimization & Reporting

ARCHON reporting is not generic consulting output. It is written so superintendents, production, and maintenance can each see what matters to them without burying everyone in the same level of detail.
